Fortywo is growing, and Reidar Johan Boldevin, starting October 6th, brings over two decades of experience in technology, leadership, and global consulting. With a career spanning four continents and industries ranging from fintech to innovation, Reidar adds both breadth and depth to Fortytwo’s growing expertise.
Why Fortytwo?
For Reidar, the choice was clear: “I’ve worked at several companies where Security and Identity and Access Management are add-ons to other services. At Fortytwo, it is core. That means I can focus on my strengths and grow as a professional, thanks to the strong team I’m embedded in.”
What Reidar brings to the table
Reidar has more than 20 years of experience in tech, moving from on-premise single-server applications to virtualization and, more recently, to cloud. He has built on this with leadership, finance, project and change management, and service development. This gives him two standout qualities: the ability to assess the actual business value of technology and explain it clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and the capability to manage teams, projects, and processes with a deep understanding of the challenges in tech leadership.
Where he has been
Much of Reidar’s career has been spent in consulting. He has worked with Microsoft, Crayon, Advent Software (a fintech company), and held in-house roles at FLIR Systems and Innovation Norway. More recently, he has served with PwC and Columbus Global in consulting and leadership positions. His international background includes assignments across four continents—from Stavanger to Saudi Arabia, Lærdal to Lisbon, and Bergen to Boston.
What sets him apart
Reidar thrives at the intersection of technical depth and business strategy. “I can deep dive into Entra ID before lunch and calculate the long-term ROI on a project using NPV or IRR in the afternoon,” he explains. Beyond that, he can train, brief, or inspire staff through workshops and lectures, making him a connector between technology and people.
One buzzword he’d erase
For Reidar, the word to retire is digitalization. “Many confuse digitization and digitalization,” he says. “Digitization is simply adapting analog processes using digital means. Digitalization is a process of improvement powered by technology. But since all modern process design includes some level of digitalization, the term has become redundant.”
We are excited to welcome Reidar to Fortytwo. His blend of technical expertise, leadership experience, and global perspective will help strengthen our ability to deliver secure, scalable, and business-focused solutions.
